Education
Oshkosh is home to the state’s third-largest university, a nationally acclaimed technical college and many international businesses. The city of Oshkosh places a high priority on the education of its youth. The Oshkosh Area School District educates nearly 11,000 students from early childhood through grade 12, while our private schools educate an additional 1,000 students.

Our schools offer the latest in technology and a wide variety of extracurricular activities. The success of our educational system was acknowledged in Expansion Management Magazine's April 2006 edition, when it jointly ranked 20th in the country with Neenah for 'Best Metro Areas for Overall Quality of Public Schools. Oshkosh’s active community involvement and outstanding, dedicated staff of professional educators combine to create a safe and progressive learning environment in our school system.
Post-secondary education is offered through the University of Wisconsin system and the two local branches of the Fox Valley Technical College. The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh is the third largest campus in the UW System, with a current enrollment of nearly 11,000 students. Currently there are 14 graduate programs, three post-master's graduate achievement programs, and seven graduate certificate programs. UW Oshkosh is the only campus in the system to receive four Regent’s Awards for Teaching Excellence. Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) is rated among the top nine technical schools in the nation and offers a variety of specialized degree and certificate programs geared toward the employment market.
